Ecuador’s Amazon is a vast and diverse region that covers around one-third of the country’s territory. It is home to a wide variety of flora and fauna, including many endangered species. Tena is a small town located in the Napo Province, in the eastern part of the country. It is a popular starting point for exploring the Amazon region, with many tour operators offering guided trips into the rainforest. Visitors to Tena can go on hikes through the jungle, visit indigenous communities, and go on whitewater rafting trips on the Napo River.
