It’s a non-technical summit that stands at an elevation of 5,018 meters (16,463 feet) above sea level, making it a popular destination for climbers of all levels of experience.

Climbing Carihuairazo offers stunning views of the surrounding Andean landscape, including the towering Chimborazo volcano and the scenic Abras Pungo valley. The scenery is rugged and breathtaking, with rocky ridges, snowfields, and glacial valleys.

The climb to the summit of Carihuairazo typically takes 1-2 days, depending on the starting point and the pace of the climb. The climb is considered non-technical, meaning that it doesn’t require advanced mountaineering skills or experience with crevasse rescue or ice climbing. However, climbers should still be prepared for the effects of high altitude and be equipped with appropriate gear and supplies.
